Bauer Media Outdoor, one of the UK’s leading Out of Home (OOH) media and infrastructure companies, today launched a new OOH campaign to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its partnership with UK environmental charity Trees for Cities. This marks a decade of collaboration dedicated to creating greener and more resilient urban environments across the country.
The OOH campaign highlights the positive impact of urban greening and encourages communities to recognise the vital role trees and green spaces play in city life. The campaign was created by Bauer Media Outdoor’s in-house Design team and will run across the media owner’s digital OOH network, bringing the anniversary message to millions of people nationwide.
Will Ramage, UK Managing Director and Europe Business Development at Bauer Media Outdoor, said: "Our partnership with Trees for Cities is something we're incredibly proud of. For the past decade, we've worked together to help create greener urban spaces and support local communities. This anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate the impact we've made together and remind people how advertising can help fund tangible improvements to our public spaces."
Kate Sheldon, Chief Executive at Trees for Cities, said: “Everyone deserves to enjoy the benefits of urban trees. But many parts of our towns and cities don’t have enough trees, which means communities are missing out on essential benefits like shade, cooling, reduced flooding and urban nature. Our partnership with Bauer Media Outdoor has resulted in the planting and growing of thousands of trees where they’re needed most, creating greener, leafier neighbourhoods. Every tree we plant together takes us a step closer to a fairer and more sustainable future.”
Bauer Media Outdoor has planted and cared for close to 8,000 urban trees in collaboration with the charity, with over £1m invested to date, ensuring trees in streets, parks and schools can thrive. Tree planting and ongoing care form part of Bauer Media Outdoor’s ongoing upgrade and investment programme to improve public infrastructure and telecommunications. 88% of volunteers* involved in planting and maintenance said that they learned something new or developed a skill they didn’t have before, empowering them to take action for urban trees (*of 680 volunteers surveyed in 2025/26).
The charity's popular Edible Playgrounds scheme, which transforms school grounds into outdoor learning environments where children can grow produce while developing an understanding of nature and sustainability, has expanded to schools in London, Newcastle, Sunderland, and Glasgow. To date, 16 Edible Playgrounds have been funded by Bauer Media Outdoor as part of their social value commitments with local authorities.
The anniversary also spotlights the different ways Bauer Media Outdoor has supported Trees for Cities over the past decade, including media space donation and hands-on community action. Most recently, Bauer Media Outdoor employees volunteered at Ravenor Park in Greenford, London, to help transform an underused area of the park into an urban woodland.
The anniversary campaign reflects both organisations' shared belief in the importance of creating more sustainable towns and cities as they look to continue their long-term partnership, with ongoing urban tree planting and further installations of Edible Playgrounds in the pipeline.
