75Media appoints Financial Controller to newly created position

4th January 2024

Matt Connolly has joined the team at Out of Home advertising specialist 75Media as Financial Controller.

ICAEW chartered accountant Matt brings with him eight years of experience in accountancy and finance, having started his career at top auditing firm Saffery Champness. His most recent role was as Group Finance Manager at private equity backed Prism Medical, focussing on everything from business acquisitions and complex technical accountancy to daily finance activity and monthly reporting.

Matt takes on the newly created role of Financial Controller at 75Media, which now employs a team of 29. Within his new job, he will have an overview of all financial matters relating to the company, including reporting, payroll, cashflow, profitability, managing supplier relationships and evaluating new business opportunities, as the company continues its rapid growth. A new credit controller has also joined the finance team, which will be expanding further in 2024.

Established in 2020, over the last three years 75Media has grown from a portfolio of 140 classic billboard sites to a UK-wide network of over 380 classic, digital and large format sites across the UK. Its head office is based on East Parade in Leeds.

Matt said: “I have been very impressed with the way 75Media has grown over the last few years, and it’s obvious that it has a driven and passionate senior team leading the way. The fact that the role is newly created provides a fantastic opportunity to shape things for the future, and with the high growth focus over the coming years it is a really exciting time, when accounting will play a vital and interesting role. But it’s also equally important that 75Media is a positive and supportive place to work, where people are genuinely cared for. Everyone is invested in helping to achieve the company’s goals and there is a buzz around the place that is infectious!”

Paul Inman, managing director and founder at 75Media, added: “As we scale up it makes sense to bring in more specialists to free up other senior staff to do what they do best. Matt brings with him a wealth of experience with businesses of all shapes and sizes, which will be vital to 75Media as we grow. His previous roles at private equity backed firms were fast-paced and he understands the importance of reporting and monitoring progress to the success of any growth plan. He will ensure we have a highly competent and efficient finance function, which is vital to our success. Welcome on board Matt!”
