3D pioneer Ocean Outdoor brings an unmissable creative DOOH format to market

10th July 2025

Two years in the making, Ocean Outdoor this week unveils the Showcase, a brand-new, freestanding, immersive 3D canvas which draws on the very best creative and technical opportunities modern Digital Out of Home (DOOH) has to offer.

With two curved screens spanning almost six metres wide and three metres tall, the Showcase is a precision-engineered LED structure, inspired by Ocean’s pioneering 3D DeepScreen® tech which was first launched to the global market in 2021. The DOOH format was designed and developed in-house by Ocean Labs.

Powered by gaming technology, the Showcase allows agencies and brands to harness the huge potential of Ocean Labs’ innovative tech portfolio including audio, skeletal tracking cameras, mixed reality and DeepScreen Alive plug and play real time interactivity.

Available on a solus basis, the Showcase allows for flexible location-based planning in high dwell time public spaces, giving brands the power to deliver premium large format DOOH wherever it matters most. It is engineered to support both brand tours or one-off events in retail and leisure destinations, transport hubs, fan zones and festivals, or as an experiential hub outside of traditional OOH locations, such as cultural spaces and heritage sites.

The Showcase makes its debut below the Four Dials DOOH screen at Westfield Stratford City in partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures UK, who are presenting a bespoke 3D asset of their epic DC Studios Superman film trailer with soundtrack. A four-minute loop featuring movie clips offers audiences photo opportunities with their favourite characters. The creative is produced by Ocean Studio in collaboration with Warner Bros. Pictures UK. The campaign was booked through WPP Media.

Melanie Blood, head of Ocean Labs UK, said: “Attention, creativity and emotion are proven levers in successful, high impact advertising. The Showcase encompasses everything we know about delivering premium brand experiences and public storytelling. It’s next-level DOOH.

“Rich in creative potential, it’s an unmissable format, offering brands an exclusive, spectacular, scalable DeepScreen experience in new and unexpected places, well beyond traditionally fixed OOH environments.”

Mel Lalou, director of Westfield Rise, Northern Europe, said: “One of Westfield Rise’s key focuses is to be a part of the change in a rapidly growing media market, so we are thrilled to be chosen as the location to launch the Ocean Showcase. This new 3D canvas will sit in one of Westfield Stratford City’s most popular experiential sites, and with the centre seeing 1million in footfall weekly, it’s positioned in a highly visible location that will drive maximum engagement ahead of the Superman film launch. With this particular launch it’s great to be able to bring together strategic insight, creativity, and industry expertise to deliver a standout activation that goes beyond traditional retail marketing.”

Wider OOH campaigns supporting the release of Superman are also appearing across Printworks SkyLights in Manchester, Birmingham’s Archway Banner and Piccadilly Lights.  Superman is released in the UK on 11th July 2025 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
