OOH artist Martin Firrell's "We Live" installation for Transgender Day of Visibility

31st March 2026

Today marks International Transgender Day of Visibility and "We Live" is a public art installation by OOH artist Martin Firrell created to acknowledge and celebrate trans lives.

“We Live" can be read literally – trans people are living their best lives. “We Live" also refers to the LGBT+ idiom: "I live (for that)" or "I am living (for this)" meaning "this is something wonderful, valuable, impressive and life-affirming".

Research shows that well over 80% of all people in the UK think trans people should be left alone to get on with their lives.

The artwork – We Live – asserts the simple truth that transgender people have always existed, continue to exist, and want – just like the rest of us – to live their best lives.

The “We Live” campaign is currently being supported by Outsmart members JCDecaux, Bauer Media Outdoor, Eighteen-24 and KBH and the artworks can be seen showcased across their digital screens.
