CP Media today announced that it will be working with former JCDecaux Marketing Director Steve Cox in the role of Brand Director, as it embarks on a new phase of growth, cementing its position as the country’s leading independent OOH agency.
Based in Halifax, the company has doubled in size over the last five years, with the latest revenues up 20% year-on-year. Through a powerful mix of organic growth and strategic acquisitions, including its latest acquisition of Keegan Ford, CP Media now has a national footprint and this appointment will build on that national reach.
In a fast-scaling market, with UK OOH revenue reaching £1.4 billion in 2024 according to Outsmart, CP Media is proving that independent players can rival the traditional players with their client-focus and relevance.
“We’re showing that you don’t need to be one of the big two or three to deliver results at scale,” said Mike Brennan, CEO of CP Media. “Clients value our agility, our people-first culture, and the results we drive – and that’s what’s fuelling our rapid and continued growth.”
“That’s why we’ve been able to attract Steve to support us on driving our brand forward. He brings 25 years of experience from those bigger players, and recognises that the landscape is changing and that independent players offer a very different proposition.”
Steve shared his excitement at being part of this success story: “I’m delighted to be a part of CP Media as the OOH sector continues to go from strength to strength. I’m particularly attracted by the way that CP Media is delivering vital new revenue streams through smart, high-impact outdoor media to councils, airports, transport networks and more.”
He continued “It’s exciting to help shape a fast-growing business by bringing my expertise in outdoor media at a national level and applying it to a hyperlocal approach providing a new opportunity for all brands that wish to increase their visibility with their audiences.”
Steve will join the team on a fractional basis, lending his expertise to guide CP Media’s brand strategy as the company continues its national expansion.
Mike concluded: “We’re committed to growing more, and we’ll be showing that independent businesses like ours can prosper. Working with Steve is a real statement of intent, and we’ll continue to show that our growth isn’t just good for us – it puts money back into the public purse at a time when local government needs it most.”
