JCDecaux UK has been awarded the advertising contract to manage and develop Out-of-Home advertising for Northern Trains Ltd. The 5-year contract (with the option for a two-year extension) was awarded following a competitive tender.
Northern Trains is the largest train operating company in the North of England and the second largest in the UK, carrying over 1 million passengers every day to more than 500 stations. The contract includes major city, leisure and commuter stations including: Bolton, Blackpool, Blackburn, Bradford, Halifax, Harrogate, Manchester Oxford Road, Manchester Victoria), Meadowhall, Rochdale, Salford Central, Salford Crescent, Sunderland, Wigan and Wilmslow.
The contract covers 467 stations of which 100 stations currently carry Out-of-Home advertising across 592 advertising sites (33 digital 6-sheets, 3 digital large format screens, 59 static 6-sheets and 47 large format billboards and 450 4-sheets).
The award will strengthen JCDecaux’s market-leading position and provide new opportunities for brands to reach audiences, using the digital, creative and programmatic capabilities of Out-of-Home.

The award of Northern Trains’ contract will strengthen JCDecaux UK’s market-leading position with JCDecaux’s share of all digital Rail impressions estimated to rise from 93% to 95%*.
